Looking to break into the social media world with a team that actually knows what they’re doing? As our Social Media Assistant, you’ll be the right-hand person to our Social Media Executive, helping bring brand stories to life and learning the ropes from someone who won’t gatekeep the good stuff.
What You'll Be doing:
- Content Scheduling: Help manage our content calendars and schedule posts across multiple platforms (we promise it’s more exciting than it sounds)
- Copywriting Magic: Draft captions, polish copy and help craft content that sounds like actual humans wrote it
- Creative Support: Assist with content creation, from brainstorming ideas to basic editing (no, not just choosing a Capcut template, but that could be part of it)
- Community Monitoring: Keep an eye on comments, messages and engagement across client accounts
- Admin That Actually Matters: Organise assets, maintain content libraries and generally keep the digital chaos under control
What we’re looking for:
Essential Skills:
- Solid copywriting skills (you know the difference between “your” and “you’re” and it keeps you up at night when brands get it wrong)
- Active on social media and actually understand how different platforms work
- Organised enough to juggle multiple clients without having a breakdown
- Basic design eye (can spot when something looks off even if you can’t always fix it yet)
- Eager to learn and not afraid to ask questions
Skills That’ll Make Us Swoon:
- Any previous social media experience (internships, managing your mate’s small business, running a meme page with decent engagement – we’re not picky)
- Familiarity with scheduling tools like Meta Business Suite, HeyOrca or similar
- Basic skills on Canva and Capcut (or willingness to learn fast)
Knowledgeable about the Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Lightroom, Illustrator, After Effects, Premiere Pro etc. - Know your way around cameras how to take good quality videos & photos
- You’ve read a social media trends newsletter at least once and didn’t immediately fall asleep
- A genuine interest in Cornwall’s creative scene and local businesses
